Welcome to my new website. As an author of three books and hopefully more to follow in the future I have decided to create this website to keep you informed of all the latest news of my writing career.
My latest project An A-Z of On The Buses is now in the hands of Troubador Matador Publishing. It is a book that took around a year to research and a year and a half to write. After that it took around six to nine months to transfer the written manuscript onto Microsoft Word and a further few months correcting, editing and adding photos to the manuscript preparing it for possible publication.
At the moment I have no concrete publication date but I will keep you all informed. It is hoped that I will be able to stage a book launch event which I would imagine would be somewhere in the London area and again I will keep you informed as to my plans on that front on this website and on Facebook and my own forum.
In the meantime I will be handing out flyers about my latest book An A-Z of On The Buses at the sixth Annual On The Buses event which I organise in Borehamwood on Saturday the 29th of June 2013. Hopefully, it will wet a few appetites as the publication process moves along and with it the marketing process starts.
WEDNESDAY THE 18TH OF APRIL 2018
Thoughts are on my next writing projects as another summer beckons. The potential project I have been working on has ground to a halt due to sad circumstances. I am mulling over releasing an updated version of my filming locations book at some point as a number of new locations have been unearthed since the book first went to print. Also ideas are there for books on other subjects.

TUESDAY THE 25TH OF AUGUST 2015
Today I attended the funeral of the great Stephen Lewis at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Wanstead. It was a service that covered the great man's life very well and allowed us fans to reflect on his great life he lead. A couple of photos of the day (all media shots) are in the gallery on this site.
FRIDAY THE 14TH OF AUGUST 2015
On the back of yesterday's sad news of Stephen Lewis passing away I have had a busy start to the day doing almost ten radio interviews across the country.
THURSDAY THE 13TH OF AUGUST 2015
Very sad news has broken today that Stephen Lewis who played Inspector Blake in On the Buses has passed away at the age of 88 in a nursing home in Wanstead. Terribly sad day for On the Buses fans everywhere. I am certain he will live on in our minds for many generations and On the Buses will continue to be loved as well by countless new generations. RIP Stephen
MONDAY THE 22ND OF JUNE 2015
This coming Saturday is The 2015 On the Buses Jamboree event in Borehamwood at The Fairway Hall and I will be signing and selling copies of An A To Z of On The Buses and will happily sign any copies of my books if you wish to bring them along. I hope to see some of you there in what is always a great weekend of fun and nostalgia.
THURSDAY THE 4TH OF JUNE 2015
As my latest project the On the Buses: The Filming Locations book is well underway it has become apparent the book will contain hundreds of photographs. These will be of the locations as they look today but shots of as they were would be nice to add so to cut down on production costs I may look to use the latest technology in the book - QR codes. They have the benefit of reducing costs but on the downside only those with smartphones or some means of reading these QR codes will be able to see these pictures. However, if that is the case the book already will tell you where and when in the episodes/films the location appears so you can still check out how they looked by watching the scenes on DVD. If you have any thoughts on this feel free to let me know.
WEDNESDAY THE 8TH OF APRIL 2015
I hope to work on redesigning my business cards later today. That should be interesting.
SUNDAY THE 5TH OF APRIL 2015
Browsing the internet yesterday I was astounded to see a copy of On The Buses: The Complete Story selling for a few pence short of £200 on Amazon!! Now I realize the book is no longer in print but I never thought I'd ever see the book at that price.

The sad news is that Pamela Cundell who appeared in the first On The Buses spin-off film passed away this morning at the age of 95. I was privileged to meet and chat with Pamela a few times and she was always a warm, bubbly personality and it was a joy to be in her presence. Rest in peace Pamela.
SUNDAY THE 18TH OF JANUARY 2015
As research for my latest book continues apace I have taken the decision to delete the Blog page. It was not serving its purpose or being utilized so decided it was time to delete it.

MONDAY THE 3RD OF MARCH 2014
Today I received the finished article - physical copies of An A To Z of On The Buses published by Mirador Publishing.
SATURDAY THE 1ST OF MARCH 2014
Even though An A To Z of On The Buses is only on the verge of going on sale my thoughts are already turning to my next writing projects. I do have a couple of ideas in mind with one being a joint venture and the other being a book of my own. Plenty to think about and planning and deciding to do before work on those projects begin.
FRIDAY THE 28TH OF FEBRUARY 2014
I can reveal that an author's profile has now been added by myself that will appear on all of my book pages on Amazon in preparation of my latest book going on sale. The book is now available to download on Amazon as an E-book with the physical copy sure to follow soon at all leading bookstores.
WEDNESDAY THE 26TH OF FEBRUARY 2014
Well I am delighted to say that the wait is almost over. I was informed by Mirador Publishing that An A To Z of On The Buses is about to go on sale with Amazon about to get the ball rolling in the next few days with other major retailers to follow suit in the coming weeks. I will be holding an event on Sunday the 22nd of June 2014 at The 2014 On The Buses Event: The Magnificent Seven Event to launch and talk about the book, its contents and its values.
WEDNESDAY THE 19TH OF FEBRUARY 2014
Some news on book sales. To date On The Buses: The Complete Story has sold a total of 5,127 copies. That figure includes hardback and e-book sales. The On The Buses Quiz Book which was only released in ebook format has had a disappointing 27 copies downloaded.
SATURDAY THE 8TH OF FEBRUARY 2014
With typesetting now complete and the front and rear cover of An A To Z of On The Buses passed for press I am now awaiting news of the planned publication date which I hope to have sometime in the coming week.
THURSDAY THE 6TH OF FEBRUARY 2014
Today saw the front and rear cover being finalised and passed for press and can be seen on the page dedicated to An A to Z of On The Buses. It differs in a good way from the Troubador book as the rear cover contains the red bus and characters Arthur, Olive and mum. I am very pleased about that.
TUESDAY THE 4TH OF FEBRUARY 2014
I can reveal that the new publisher of An A-Z of On The Buses will be Mirador Publishing. The book has been typeset and a price has been set at £15.99p and the paperback will have dimensions of 280mm x 210mm. Next stage will be passing the cover (front and back) for press.
FRIDAY THE 31ST OF JANUARY 2014
After around three or four phases of typesetting of An A-Z of On The Buses I am delighted to say that this arduous task is now complete and I am happy to move on to the next stage of the publication process. Today An A-Z of On The Buses moved a step closer to publication.
WEDNESDAY THE 14TH OF JANUARY 2014
The book is now going through the typesetting stage and I have written a blurb for the book which will be in the hands of the publisher tomorrow.
FRIDAY THE 10TH OF JANUARY 2014
I am pleased to say I have completed the tasking chore of editing the manuscript of An A-Z of On The Buses and is in the hands of the publishers. The book will now go through the typesetting stage and hope to update you with more news soon. There may also be a handful more photos in this edition of the book but stay tuned for confirmation.
SUNDAY THE 5TH OF JANUARY 2014
I'd like to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year. Also I do provisionally have another publisher now lined up for An A-Z of On The Buses and am currently going through the laborious task of editing the manuscript. I have completed just over 40% of this task and then the book will go onto the typesetting stage. I will announce the new publisher in the coming weeks so watch this space. Also my thoughts are already onto my next writing project which I hope to start later this year so again watch out for news on that.
MONDAY THE 9TH OF DECEMBER 2013
I would just like to clarify the reasoning behind me pulling out of my publishing contract with Troubador. Such were printing costs of the book it was brought to my attention by the publishers that for me to make any sort of profit from the book the RRP would have to be altered from the set price of £14.99 to £29.99. For me a 100% price increase never rested easy with me and I realised it would not only harm the marketability of the book but also would not have felt right after another much cheaper price had initially been set. Therefore I cancelled the contract. I am now in talks with two other publishers with regards to An A-Z of On The Buses going into print. By the way I still have some limited editions of An A-Z of On The Buses available to order in the shop on this site.
SATURDAY THE 23RD OF NOVEMBER 2013
After a spell in hospital with cellulitis I was released yesterday and whilst in hospital I had to make a tough decision to pull the plug on my publishing deal with Troubador Publishing Ltd. for them to publish An A-Z of On The Buses - lets just say it was a necessary decision and the only one left open to me. I do have 40 copies being delivered to me this week which I will sell as limited editions on this website. Meanwhile, I am already in contact with another publisher with views to publishing An A-Z of On The Buses under their imprint. Rest assured I will keep you all informed.
WEDNESDAY THE 30TH OF OCTOBER 2013
With proof-reading over and the book going to press my thoughts now turn to organising the book launch event. News of this will appear on this site's An A-Z of On The Buses page.
TUESDAY THE 29TH OF OCTOBER 2013
Today the book has finally been passed for press so in the next few days it should be heading to the printers and the print process will take perhaps three weeks. Almost there.
THURSDAY THE 24TH OF OCTOBER 2013
The final proofs are waiting with me now for being passed for press (okay to publish) as is the cover design. The back cover sadly has necessitated a slight redesign necessary to fit in the book's blog and is also set to be passed for press.
TUESDAY THE 22ND OF OCTOBER 2013
I have now begun the third stage of proof-reading and feel like I am on the home stretch so to speak. I should think the next stage of proof-reading will be the last and after that - publication.
FRIDAY THE 18TH OF OCTOBER 2013
With the third stage of proof-reading completed last night and sent back to the publisher this afternoon I feel I may be close to the publication stage. Watch this space.
THURSDAY THE 17TH OF OCTOBER 2013
I am now about to start the third stage of proof-reading on An A-Z of On The Buses. Hopefully, afterwards will be a steep nearer to publication but may need another stage of proof-reading. This stage did take a lot shorter to do and amendments just needed to a lot less pages now. The end is in sight.
SATURDAY THE 12TH OF OCTOBER 2013
I completed the second stage of proof-reading late last night and they have now been posted back to the publisher. A lot less needed tweaking this time so we are getting there. Until proof-reading is completed to my satisfaction the book should be ready to go to print.
MONDAY THE 7TH OF OCTOBER 2013
After a very distressing last week it is now time to begin proof-reading the whole manuscript once more. This is the second stage of this task and hopefully I may just have one more stage of proof-reading after this before the task will be complete and after that the book should be set to go into print.
SUNDAY THE 22ND OF SEPTEMBER 2013
The laborious task of proof-reading the whole manuscript is over and it has been necessary to delete a few pictures as they were just too small. The proof-read manuscript will be posted off to the publishers tomorrow morning. I expect to receive another round or two of proof reading before everything is ironed out. Watch this space. I have also completed a pre-publication blog to advertise the book which you can see on the page An A-Z of On The Buses.
MONDAY THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER 2013
I am now going through the laborious task of going through the whole manuscript in its style-proof form to check for any errors I may have missed and grammar errors. These will then get sent back to the publisher (hopefully by the end of this week) and we should then be getting close to publication.
TUESDAY THE 27TH OF AUGUST 2013
The breaking news is that the cover design and fonts have been finalised and are now available to view at http://www.troubador.co.uk/book_info.asp?bookid=2426 and I hope to add the cover design here to the website in the coming days. Also the typeset proofs are being tweaked and hopefully will meet my approval soon.
MONDAY THE 5TH OF AUGUST 2013
The latest on An A-Z of On The Buses is that the fonts are being designed for the title on the front cover and also am expecting to receive style proofs for the first few pages with the photos added. I still have no concrete date for it release.
SATURDAY THE 27TH OF JULY 2013
Another small step forward today in the publication process of An A-Z of On The Buses. I received the first few pages of the manuscript for my perusal to assess the type proofs. This is for me to voice any concerns over the chosen fonts and page numbering positions as well as page layout details. I only have a couple of slight reservations so I can't foresee any major hold-ups at this stage. More news hopefully coming soon.
WEDNESDAY THE 10TH OF JULY 2013
Today marked another small step forward for the publication of An A-Z of On The Buses. The completion of design of the official press releases and author information details means that media outlets and bookstores will soon be receiving details of the book due for publication in the coming months. I still have no concrete publication date as yet but will keep you all informed.
